O ultimă zi liberă în care inițial nu am nici un plan. Aș fi mers în stațiune să mai practic ceva country skiing... Azi nu lucrează nimeni și nu e nici un transport (în compania unde lucrez) din Kiilopää în Saariselkä și înapoi. Așa că aș fi urcat iarăși pe Kiilopää. Aseară m-am împrietenit cu doi colegi noi de hostel, originari din Israel. Foarte faini, am povestit, am mâncat împreună, ne-am făcut planuri... Vom fi și colegi de cameră pentru o seară, ei apoi pleacă spre nord. Ei vor să meargă la ski/placă în Saariselkä, eu... să vedem. După micul dejun relaxat plecăm cu mașina lor în Saariselka și eu mă hotărăsc pe drum să schiez pe pârtie. Doar e prima și ultima ocazie să schiez în cea mai nordică stațiune din Uniunea Europeană (cum am spus și în postări de acum de mai bine de o lună, mai este o stațiune de schi aproximativ la aceeași latitudine nordică în Suedia)!
A last off day and I initially have no plan. I would go to the resort for some country skiing... No one works today and there is no free transport (in our company) from Kiilopää to Saariselkä and back. So I would go again up on Kiilopää. Last night I made some two new friends at the hostel, coming from Israel. Extremely fine, we chat, ate together, made plans... We will be roommates for one evening, they continue to north. They want to go to Saariselkä to ski or snowboard, me... we'll see. After a relaxed breakfast we go in Saariselkä with their car and I decide to ski on slopes. It is the first and the last ocassion to ski in the northernmost ski resort in European Union (as I said in some posts a month ago, there is another ski resort almost at the same latitude in Sweden)!
Deși n-am mai fost la centrul de închirieri, îl găsim din prima și ne închiriem echipament. Ei își iau plăci și buți și eu schiuri. Vor mai sta o zi și își iau abonament pe două zile, eu doar pe o zi. Aveți aici prețurile pentru abonamente și pentru închirieri. Eu beneficiez de gratuitate la abonament cu cardul de la firmă ;).
Mergem toți trei în zona de începători și urcăm cu primul teleschi. Am ceva emoții la primele cristiane și apoi îmi dau drumul la vale. Ei sunt începători și vor coborî mai încet de fiecare dată. O dată vom coborî împreună pe pârtiile 3 și 4 (aveți harta printre imagini) și apoi nimerim pe partea neagră de jos din 5. Vom mai sta împreună la un moment dat la o ciocolată caldă și o prăjitură sus la restaurantul Huippu Ravintola de pe Kaunispää. Eu încerc și îmi reușesc toate pârtiile deschise (2-5, 10-15). Chiar și pârtia 9 care e închisă/neamenajată! Pe aceasta ultimă pârtie voi avea multe căzături și nu e bai. Îmi spuseseră cei de la teleschiuri că nu răspund pe pârtiile neamenajate!
Even if I haven't been to the ski rental center, we find it in the first try and rent equipment. They take snowboards and boots and I take skis. They will stay one more day and take a 2-day ski pass, I will take only for one day. Here you have the prices for ski passes and for crentals. I have a free ski pass with my company member card ;).
We go together in the beginners' area and go up with the first teleski. I have some emotions at the first turns and then start to slide down. They are beginners and are going down slower every time. We will go down together one time on slopes 3 and 4 (you have the slope map below) and then in the lower part of black slope 5. At one moment we will stay together up at Ravintola Huippu restaurant on Kaunispää for a chocolate and a cake. I try and succeed to go down on all the open slopes (2-5, 10-15). Even on slope 9 which is closed! On the last one I will fall down for a few times and it is ok. They told me about self responsability on closed slopes!
După aproape patru ore suntem toți gata de mers acasă. Ei vor să mai facă ceva ture pe rachete și la centrul de informații sunt dezamăgiți. Doamna de acolo le spune că nu prea au unde merge fiindcă sunt închise traseele pentru trekking. Deh, așa sunt ei foarte corecți și respectă regulile. Păi dacă aș fi făcut și eu așa...
After four hours we are ready to go back home. They want some snowshoes trips and are dissapointed at the info center. The lady from here tells them they don't have many trails open for trekking. They are so fair and respect all the rules. If I would have done the same...
Mergem acasă și mai stăm la povești. Chiar mi-au recomandat un hostel fain în Zakopane sub Tatra. Voi merge la altul și am reținut ideea. Le mulțumesc pentru ziua faină și după saună ne retragem la somn. Nu prea am povestit, dar am făcut saună aproape în fiecare zi, așa e de fain și relaxant!
We go home and chat about everything. They even recomended me a hostel in Zakopane under Tatra. I will go to another one and marked the idea. I thank them for the fine day and after sauna we go to sleep. I didn't tell you too much, but I went to sauna almost everyday, it is so fine and relaxing!
