Așa cum vă spuneam, la 8.00 sunt gata de îmbarcare pe ferryboat-ul Finlandia al companiei Eckero Line pe ruta Helsinki-Tallinn. Mai fusesem cu ferryboat-uri în Norvegia, ceva mai mici și pe distanțe mai scurte. Acum sunt la Terminalul 2 din Helsinki și, așa cum văzusem de ieri, merg cu un vas imens.
Nici nu mă așteptam la ce văd înăuntru. Mi se pare un fel de Titanic modern: 9 punți cu diverse utilități, așa cum vedeți într-una din imaginile de mai jos! Sunt trei niveluri cu cabine, în prora/prova vasului pe trei nivele este un bar-sală de spectacole-living cu foarte multe locuri (acolo îmi și aleg să las bagajul și să stau pentru o perioadă), la mijlocul vasului este un loc de joacă pentru copii, la pupa vasului este un imens lounge-bar... Spun astea fiindcă nu am putut sta prea mult locului. Doar prima jumătate de oră (din cele 2.5 ore de mers) am stat să admir plecarea pe întuneric, luminarea și întâlnirea cu vasul ce vine din direcția opusă. Știu că pentru unii așa ceva este ceva obișnuit. De fapt aici traversarea în Estonia este ceva uzual, prețurile sunt mai mici decât în Finlanda (logic ținând cont de istoria fiecărei țări!) și finlandezii preferă să-și facă aici cumpărături și apoi să se întoarcă pe seară. Din acest motiv sunt și bilete dus-întors, așa cum mi-am luat și eu. Nu țin minte să mă fi controlat cineva de bilet. Aaaa, da! Când am intrat din port spre ferry am validat codul printr-un sistem de trecere automat. Cu siguranță sistemul a remarcat că nu m-am întors în aceeași zi! M-am plimbat pe toate punțile accesibile uimit de ceea ce văd. Aproape că nu am avut timp să mă plictisesc. Bine, hai să zic 10-15 minute cât am avut telefonul la încărcat într-una din multele prize de pe holuri!
La sosire este un pic de ceață și portul Tallinn ni se arată în toată mărimea lui, cu orașul întins în spate și culminând cu orașul vechi Vanalinn sau Kesklinn unde am cazare. Ieșim din ”marea balenă”, coborâm în port unde trecem printr-o vamă formală și am intrat în oraș. Îmi iau o hartă, ies din port și... continuarea în următoarea postare estoniană.
As I was telling you, at 8.00 I am ready for embarking on Finlandia ferry of Eckero Line company on Helsinki-Talinn route. I was on ferries before in Norway, smaller and for shorter distances. Now I am at Terminal 2 from Helsinki and, as I saw yesterday, I will float with a huge ship.
I didn't expect to see this inside. It looks like a modern Titanic: 9 decks with different utilities, as you see in one of the pictures below! There are three levels with cabins, in the bow of the ship there is a bar/showroom/living on three levels, with a lot of places (I choose to let my baggage there and stay for a while), in the middle of the ship you can see a kids' playground, at the stern is a huge lounge/bar... I'm telling you this because I couldn't stay in a place too much. I stayed only for the first half an hour (from 2.5 hours totally) to admire the start on the dark, the light of the day and the passing near the other direction ship. I know this is something usual for some of you. In fact the "sail" to Estonia is usual here, the prices are lower than in Finland (logically if you remember the history of each country!) and Finnish people prefer to make shopping here and return back on evening. This is the reason for return tickets as I bought. I don't remember of any control. Oh yes! When I entered from the port to ferry I validated the code in an automated ticket. Certainly the system noticed that I didn't return in the same day! I walked on all accesible decks amazed of what I see. I almost had no time to get bored. Well, let's say 10-15 minutes when I charged my phone at one of the plugs on the main hall!
At arrival we have some fog and the port of Tallinn shows himself with the city behind and the old town Vanalinn or Kesklinn up there (I have accomodation here). We get out of the "big whale", go down in the port, pass a formal checking point and enter the city. I took a map, get out of the port and... in the next estonian post.
